Fairweather Demo - Standard Checklist

  • Municipal water supply - to maintain the reliability of municipal water supply in Fairweather over the next 40 years.
  • Irrigation - to increase the reliability of agricultural water supply in Fairweather over the next 40 years.
  • Hydropower - to increase the dependable capacity of hydropower production from the Green River Basin over the next 40 years.
  • Recreation - to increase the reliability of of favorable boating and swimming opportunities on Lake Green over the next 40 years.
  • Water quality - to reduce the harmful impacts of water pollution on people and riverine plants and animals on the Green River from from George's Point to the confluence with the Blue River over the next 40 years.
  • Support for riverine and lake fisheries - to increase the number and health of river and lake fish in the Green and Blue River basin over the next 40 years.
  • Navigation - to increase the transportation cost savings from barge transportation on the Green and Blue Rivers over the next 40 years.
  • Flood control - to reduce the social and economic impact of flooding on the Green River over the next 40 years.
  • Ecosystem restoration - to recreate and sustain, over the next 40 years and beyond, more of the diversity and robustness of riparian species and habitat that existed before construction of the existing Green and Blue River dams.
