California Department of Water Resources (CADWR)

The California Department of Water Resources (CADWR) and IWR signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to facilitate IWR assistance in CADWR planning activities. The partners are particularly interested in implementing a Shared Vision Planning approach to the creation of CADWR’s updated state water plan.

Signing Parties:

• Lester A. Snow , Director (California Department of Water Resources)
• Robert A. Pietrowsky, Director (IWR)

Purpose: This partnership will allow IWR to assist the California DWR in implementing a Shared Vision Planning approach for the updating of the state water plan.

Terms: IWR will provide products and services in the following areas, with a goal of increasing opportunities for public involvement in the development of the California Water Plan and other planning activities:

• Technical assistance and training in the application of the Shared Vision Planning process to the California Water Plan
• Enhancement and application of IWR hydrologic modeling programs for use in CADWR planning activities
• Increasing opportunities for public involvement in planning activities, including the state water plan
