Dr. Michael Deegan New National Research Council Research Associateship Fellow

ALEXANDRIA, VA – August 29, 2008. Dr. Michael Deegan has been awarded a National Research Council Research Associateship. He joins IWR to work with Rolf Olsen, Laura Zepp, and the National Flood Risk Management Program on “Flood Risk Management Policies: A Critical Examination of Factors Influencing Policy Formulation, Adoption, and Implementation.”

Dr. Deegan completed his Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration at the State University of New York at Albany and has been a visiting assistant professor at SUNY-Albany.

Through the National Research Council (NRC) Research Associateship Program, IWR sponsors postdoctoral and senior research awards to conduct relevant research for one to two years at one of IWR's locations. Fellowships are given for the purpose of conducting research (chosen by the doctoral level scientists and engineers) to apply their special knowledge and research talents to areas that are of interest to them and to the host laboratories and centers.
