Professor Wesley W. Wilson

Professor Wesley W. Wilson was a key link between the NETS team and a cadre of academic experts in transportation, international trade, spatial theory, and econometrics. He was involved in a diversity of activities with NETS and IWR, including:

  • Columbia-Snake Transportation Demands
  • Congestion and Spatial Equilibrium Models
  • Forecasting River Traffic
  • Incorporation of Inelastic Movement Level Demands in ORNIM
  • Lock Performance
  • Model of Spatial Market Areas and Transportation Demand
  • Modeling Preferences for Upper Mississippi Grain Movements: The Mid-American Grain Study
  • Ohio River Basin Shipper Response Survey
  • Port Development, Internal Transport Systems and International Trade
  • Revealed Choice Estimate of the Demand for Barges on the Mississippi River

These activities led to a variety of publications and presentations, including those describing surveys of Ohio River users. He collaborated with the Planning Center of Expertise for Inland Navigation on many studies. Professor Wilson has presented his research in the United States and around the world.
