USACE's Institute for Water Resources (IWR) is seeking a permanent Water Resources Center (WRC) Deputy Director working under the direction of the WRC Director of the Institute for Water Resources (IWR), with delegated authority for full accomplishment of work. Serves as the WRC Deputy Director of IWR consisting of a Water Resources Center (WRC) Office with 6 Enterprise Groups and 2 Centers. Indirectly receives assignments in the form of directives or correspondence from the WRC Director, which are routed to incumbent without instructions other than broad aspects concerning priorities, fund limitations, and special coordination requirements.
This position will be filled on a permanent basis. Position is being filled at the GS-14 level.
This position is with the Institute for Water Resources (IWR), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alexandria, VA 22315.
Duties:
Serves as the Deputy Director of the Water Resources Center (WRC); supports the Director and 6 Group Managers in setting the organization's strategic direction and managing its broad range of water resources missions.
Coordinates day-to-day operations, monitoring human resources, budgeting, and financial activities, providing timely notice to the Director of irregularities or issues within these areas, and taking appropriate remediation actions.
Collaborates with Group Managers and Team Leaders to assure effective workload distribution and full utilization of employee skills to support the organization's objectives.
