Ada Benavides, Deputy Chief, South Pacific Division (SPD) Regional Integration Team (RIT), presented information on the Federal Support Toolbox for Integrated Water Resources Management.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—July 1, 2011. The latest U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) - U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Headquarters Quarterly met on May 5, 2011. The meeting was held at the U.S. Geological Survey National Center in Reston, Virginia. Personnel from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and National Weather Service (NWS) also attended the meeting.

Ada Benavides, Deputy Chief, South Pacific Division (SPD) Regional Integration Team (RIT), presented information on the Federal Support Toolbox for Integrated Water Resources Management. Its purpose is to provide a comprehensive hub of information and capabilities through a common data portal for integrated water resources management across the nation and across Federal agencies. It provides one-stop shopping for Federal water information, data, policies, tools, and programs; simplifies access; and provides integrated multi-agency information.

Additional topics discussed at the meeting included Integrated Water Resources Science and Services (IWRSS), presented by Don Cline, Chief, Hydrology Laboratory of the National Weather Service; FEMA Floodplain Mapping Tools, presented by Doug Bellomo, Director, Risk Analysis Division for FEMA; and USGS Hazards Science Strategy Plan, presented by Bob Holmes, National Flood Specialist for the USGS. Steven Stockton, Director of Civil Works, addressed IWRSS issues from the USACE perspective and Steve Blanchard, Chief, Office of Surface Water discussed issues from the USGS perspective.
