Planning Associates Program: Growing as leaders, Serving with Integrity, Planning Solutions

Growing as leaders, Serving with Integrity,
Planning Solutions

After completing the Deep Draft Navigation course, the 2013 Planning Associates travelled to Vicksburg, Mississippi to visit the USACE Mississippi Valley Division (MVD) and the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC).

The class spent a day at MVD learning about the Mississippi River Commission, MVD’s mission areas, and some of the planning challenges faced on a daily basis.  They also learned about MVD’s regionalized planning structure (RPEDS) and talked to leaders such as those from RPEDS North and RPEDS South.

The Planning Associates then spent three days at ERDC learning about its unique facilities and capabilities.  The class learned about ERDC programs such as Dredging Operations Technical Support (DOTS) and Water Operations Technical Support (WOTS), which can provide fully funded environmental and engineering technical support to project delivery teams.
