Alabama Silver Jackets

The Alabama Silver Jackets Team has crafted the following mission, as well as goals for the next five years.

MISSION STATEMENT

Support the State of Alabama's response and solutions to natural disasters through empowered partnerships across local, state, federal and non-government entities.

FIVE YEAR GOALS (2024-2029)

Strengthen Preparedness and Risk Management

  • Facilitate strategic, integrated life-cycle mitigation actions to reduce the threat, vulnerability and consequences of flooding in the state of Alabama.
  • Integrate mitigation into recovery actions.

Enhance Communication and Education

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across all partnering agencies before, during, and after flood events.
  • Develop effective audience-oriented flood risk communication.
  • Promote wise stewardship of the taxpayers' investments.

Streamline Resources and Information

  • Foster leveraging of available resources and information among agencies.
  • Reduce redundancy by informing federal and state agencies about each other's capabilities and funding resources.
  • Create or supplement a mechanism to collaboratively solve issues and implement or recommend solutions.
